Speaker: Karl Zingheim, Historian, USS Midway Museum and Lecturer at San Diego State University’s Center for War and Society
MOPA@SDMA Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater

 

Karl Zingheim, a lecturer at SDSU and Historian for the USS Midway Museum, will present on the crucial, and often overlooked, history of The San Diego Museum of Art and Balboa Park during World War I and World War II. His talk will detail how Balboa Park and the Museum supported the home front and war effort by serving as military facilities, temporary housing, training grounds, and centers for morale and cultural preservation.

 

Following the lecture, guests are invited to enjoy a guided tour led by our docent team.

Please note, this lecture is in-person only and held at the state-of-the-art MOPA@SDMA Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater in Balboa Park.
