Members are invited for a first look at Eduardo Chillida: Convergence. A visionary artist, Eduardo Chillida's body of work is closely linked to the landscape and traditions of his Basque Country homeland in northern Spain and frequently invokes the earth, sea, wind, and light, as well as his inspirations from music, philosophy, and architecture. The most comprehensive survey of Chillida's work in North America in nearly half a century, this exhibition encompasses the full range of the artist's practice, including works on paper and sculptures created from forged iron, oak, alabaster, and clay. Each of these creations are points of convergence where myriad forces, including nature and culture, material and immaterial, form and void, all meet.
Eduardo Chillida: Convergence is on view at The San Diego Museum of Art from August 2, 2025, through February 8, 2026. The exhibition is accompanied by a full-color catalog that can be purchased at The Museum Store.
The Members’ Preview will be held on Friday, August 1, from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Timed entry tickets are required for this member benefit event. Tickets are available starting Monday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
